I ordered the jerk chicken, jerk pork, grilled veggies and Mac and cheese. The food was great. The wait was a little long but I don't mind waiting if my food is being cooked fresh and right. Pricing of the food is a little on the pricey side but what I ordered it was a enough for two people to share. I say check it out. Expect to pay about $20.00 or more. I will definitely go back again.

Amazing BBQ, best we've had in a long time! We came here all the way from Miami and there's no doubt we are coming back as often as possible. Had a little bit of everything to try it all: brisquet=butter, jerk pork and chicken= to die for, perfectly cooked juicy and tender, spare ribs=huge and full of meat! Even the corn bread we ordered more to go! They never freeze their meats and they smoke everything without boiling! Had an amazing experience with this food! The chef Tommy is really nice and Donna up front knows what she is talking about so if you can't make up your mind let her guide you and you'll leave completely happy!

Delicious! Had the Brisket sandwich and it was wonderful!! Will be back. This a carry out place, as it has very limited seating. Loved it!

The service is welcoming and friendly. I received a very nice hello when I came in and the staff was very attentive to me. Downside: there was only one table set up. If you are going with someone and expecting to sit down and eat, you better hope the restaurant is empty. I ordered the smoked chicken when I was there and it was pretty awesome. The hush puppies were okay, I didn't taste any cheddar and then again I haven't had any hush puppies before that. The fries were excellent. I will definitely be going back again soon!

After giving up on Scrubby's on University, we turned to Yelp to find a new 'go-to' bbq spot. FOUND IT! The service was great and spareribs are amazing. I chose potato salad and mac n cheese for the sides. The portions are huge and there's nothing I didnt like. We will be regulars here!

I ordered through the Eat 24 app and it took a little bit but man oh man were we surprised when we got our food!! We had the brisket was AMAZING, bbq chicken was delicious, baked beans THE BEST I have had, baked mac and cheese was ok, red beans and rice, ribs were tender and well seasoned.....they were ALL delicious!! The caesar salad that came with it was good too. I definitely will be ordering from Bare Bones again!!!!

ordered delivery.... $15 for publix cookies, brisket looked like leftovers from the day before, ribs where just fat on the bone. the only thing that was any good was the mac and cheese. We spent over $80 for 3 baby back ribs 3 short ribs and a handful of leftover brisket and I almost forgot the $15 publix cookies.... never again.

I had the brisket sandwich at the recommendation of who I presume was the chef owner. He was very friendly and helpful. Wow was it good, I would be hard pressed not to return for it. Juicy brisket was piled on two pieces of the largest(and best tasting) Texas toast i have ever seen. It came with a side of coleslaw and potato salad. The potato salad was expertly crafted. The coleslaw was delicious as well with a hint of pineapple.

Delicious BBQ, however the price is a big drawback. I paid $15.30 and I received only 3 spare ribs, 2 sides, and a drink. Also one of the ribs wasn't even a whole rib. It was the tips of 2 ribs to kind of be equivalent to one rib. Very stingy on the meat. This is a normal price for a 1/2 rack of ribs meal in most BBQ places. The price of $28 for a full rack with no sides is insane. If I wanted a full rack of ribs with one side and a drink it would probably cost around $35-$38. Food and customer service is terrific, but the high price is very bad. For now, I can only give 3 stars.

I lucked into stopping by here after my mom's acupuncture appointment on July 4th, and what a find this was. I ordered their Big Momma's Mea and added a few more BBQ meat items. I am so glad to have ordered everything: ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork, jerk chicken, jerk pork and brisket. We had the Peas and Rice, corn, plantains and macaroni and cheese for sides and all were delicious. Everyone at our dinner table was happy about all the food that I think half of them had food coma after wards. What else can I say about our new drug, BBQ at Bare Bones.

Delicious smoked BBQ joint that you would never find. Smothered into a shopping center it replaced a small Chinese takeout location. The smoke their brisket and pork for 12 hours before serving it and it is very noticeable. I had the pork sandwich and is was delicious. Sweet BBQ sauce and pork on a soft yet toasted bun. Sandwich came with coleslaw and potato salad. I don't like coleslaw but the potato salad was very good. I also ordered a side of pork and beans as well as baked mac and cheese. The pork and beans were good not great. The Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! I'm a sucker for Mac and cheese. So cheesy! This place is not a sit down restaurant. There is literally one table with two chairs inside. Order to go or delivery only. Overall it was very good quality and flavor for the price.

Was at a friends house & ordered pick up. Excellent service from the lady on the phone. & the food topped it off. SO GOOD! Got Mac & cheese, pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw & potato salad, 1/4 chicken with fries, & corn. Everything delicious!

I'm a little biased since I have had some of the best BBQ in the US, but this is basically an average barbeque joint. The macaroni was really good. The slaw was average. The pork was very tasty, but a little bland. The brisket has a strong flavor of liquid smoke. I prefer a more saucy pulled pork and a thinner, smokier brisket, but I will come back until I find a better place.

The first thing to mention is this is mostly a takeout restaurant. They only have one small table if you want to eat there. Somehow I didn't realize that until I got there. That being said, for what it is, this restaurant is fabulous! The brisket was so tender, very rare to find in South Florida. The ribs were also tasty. We had the mac and cheese and collard greens for our sides. The collard greens were a little bland, but I am happy when I get my greens in. The mac and cheese had the consistency of homemade. The service was also excellent for it just being takeout. Overall, though, because of the rarity of tender brisket, it gets 5 stars.

I finally found my go to bbq place! All thanks to yelp. This gem is located less than 5 mins from my house, and I will be visiting again. I ordered the brisket and white meat chicken with pork n beans and Mac n cheese. The meats were juicy and flavorful. The brisket was a little fatty but still really good. The beans were AMAZING the Mac n cheese was okay... Nothing to brag about. The girl at the register was very friendly and helpful. The only Con was that they were sold out of a few of the side items and it's hidden in a old plaza... Other than that, this place is really good! I highly recommend eating there

Just a tiny storefront in an old strip plaza on Palm Avenue in Pembroke Pines with excellent barbeque meats. The owner is a single dad raising his son on his own. I give him credit for that. He is teaching his son about work ethic. This is a take out place so I didn't mind his son playing quietly with his action figures at all. The food is top notch. I had the 24 hour smoked brisket and it was so tender it basically fell apart as ypu touched it with a fork. Their barbeque sauce was sweet and tangy but so well balanced that you are left wanting more. Thr grilled corn wss perfect, sweet, tender corn grilled just enough to give it a nutty flavor and chopped in pieces making it easier to eat.I have to go back and try their baby back ribs.

Fabulous barbecue place. We had the jerk chicken and the baby back ribs. Collared greens, sautéed vegetables and slaw for our sides. Delicious, fresh food and great energy in this hidden gem. While it's primarily for take out, there are a few high top tables where you can dine in. We did dine in and the staff made us feel real comfortable. We'll be back real soon!!

This is one of the best BBQ places I've ever tried. We had the 1/2 lb pulled pork with Carolina sauce and the smoked chicken and babyback ribs combo. We had sides of fries, potato salad, slaw, and mac n' cheese with our order. All amazing and worth every penny. Needless to say, we're going back today!

This place is amazing! I've been searching for a decent BBQ place and I was super happy when I found this place. It's not a place for you to dine in and it is more of a carry-out style. There is a wait for the food but at least you know your food is fresh and hot. You can call ahead so I usually just call and place my order. It is in a random plaza that you wouldn't really think to go in and I only found it because of yelp. I loveeee the BBQ chicken and the ribs are pretty good too. I had the spare ribs. I also really liked the BBQ sauce. Next time I will try the baby back ribs. For the sides, I've had the potato salad, Mac n cheese, corn and baked beans. The potato salad was good but not great. The others were really good though. I always end up getting those 3 sides. They do have a variety of other sides you can get. They do have a combo special where you get 2 types of meat and 2 sides. It's not a huge portion of meat you get but when you get both portions of meat and the 2 sides it's very filling. The price is a bit pricey so I usually go when I want to treat myself or I'm feeling for some good "home cooked" food. I would definitely continue going back to this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Readers Digest: See the stars ^. I will remember this place despite their logo. If you care why: I have had barbecue from a lot of places in Florida, but I can't say any were memorable. Not surprising, I can take or leave barbecue. It's fun food, which I like and usually eat at gatherings so I have a positive association with it. On the other hand my hubby loves barbecue, he grew up here (I didn't). So I stumbled upon Bare Bones this morning, and thought I had seen this before. I had. We use a food delivery service and this place is on the list that delivers to us...I never wanted to even look at the menu because the logo is a pig's giant rear and it just made me think no good food here, move on. I never thought that consciously until today. That was it: the pig's ass. So there's that. After reading reviews from people, I thought, well, I can take it or leave it, but Hubby will no doubt love it. So, I'd give it a try! We ordered the Baby Bones Meal with brisket, jerk chicken, and baby back ribs. I could only choose 3 sides so I went with Mac N Cheese, Cole Slaw and corn on the cob. Hubby loves Collard Greens, so I added those. I have to say, I enjoyed this meal A LOT. The meat was tender and succulent, especially the brisket. Everything was full of flavor and having a nice variety of food like that was great. Hubby loved the greens, I am sorry (not sorry), I still don't care for greens. I loved the Mac N Cheese and the corn. Both were perfect. The slaw was prepared differently than I prefer, but it wasn't bad. I think they make it that way for the sandwiches as to not make them soggy. Just a guess. I found myself stuffed and satisfied. I had concerns that I would get enough food for the money, or that it would be another 'okay' barbecue experience. I'm glad I tried this place out, and thank you, Yelp. Otherwise the pig's ass would have prevailed.

Odine (I hope I spelled your name right!) is the BEST customer service person I have come across in YEARS. She is so friendly and sweet and took her time to explain everything I asked about -- even though I had to call more than once. I am so happy they utilize Doorstep Delivery!! Can't wait until they bring back the flan and key lime pie :o) For today, I look forward to my brisket! Hi*5, Odine! You are awesome

Awesome place and great customer service. Called in late at the last minute, they could have turn away my business, most places would have said no we are closing up but they didn't, they still took care of me, very friendly and great food!!!

We were just finishing up golf at Hollybrook and wanted to grab some BBQ so I did a mapquest search and found Bare Bones. Arriving at the strip mall, the name certainly described it's outward appearance. Walking in, clearly with one table in the place, reservations is recommended. If you've read this far then you will be happy to note that Bare Bones has the best darn pulled pork and brisket sandwich around. The potato salad could use a touch more mustard to give it character and the coleslaw was excellent. Meats are served on homemade buns and Texas toast. As for extra BBQ sauce as the half-ramekin of sauce they include isn't nearly enough. These sandwiches, however, are HUGE. I am definitely coming back after my next outing. Good job Bare Bones!

Don't be discouraged by the facade of the building. I lived in Pembroke Pines for years and rarely venture into that plaza. After a friend'a suggestion? I've decided to give it a shot. Meals are simple, nothing fancy. It's just BBQ right?? Wrong!!! BBQ takes time with a combination of marinade & correct cooking temperature with timing. The chef definitely knows what he's doing and mastered his craft. After hearing great reviews, we ended up getting the pulled pork & ribs. Great flavor and texture. Will definitely go back to try the brisket as I've also heard it's their best seller.

Found this place via Yelp, was in search of decent mac and cheese and was persuaded by the other reviews. Tried the mac as well as collard greens. Mac was good but collards were a bit too oily for my liking. The aroma in this place is so amazing. Next time I'm in the mood for bbq, I will come back...but I'll make sure to order ahead first. Wait time is quite lengthy. Guy came in after me to order a brisket combo, was given a 30 min wait. Thanks Yelp!

I just purchased the brisket and 1/4 quarter chicken with Mac and Cheese and potato salad. The sides were ok but the chicken was undercook and not eatable. I will not be going back and neither will I refer this place to anyone!

Delicious! Got the southern comfort meal with combo meats (pulled pork and brisket) and 2 sides (baked mac and potato salad). Everything was so fresh, tasty, and delightful! Meat was tender, flavorful, and juicy! Also got an order of apple corn bread and it was so moist and yummy! Definitely a great restaurant for some good southern food at a decent price! I'll be back again real soon!

An enticing smokey goodness hits your sense of smell as soon as you walk in! This small take-out BBQ joint packs a huge punch in taste and perfection to their meats. Walking into the joint, you may be a bit skeptical in actually eating from the establishment as others have noted that their is only one high-top with two stools and a couple of chairs for you to sit and wait for your order. Service is great. Very enthusiastic owner and chef that is friendly, attentive and accommodating. After perusing through their menu, everything sounded so good, the aroma coming from the kitchen did not help either. So we decided to order for four...the Baby Bone's Meal and attach a bunch orders of meats to complete the MEAT FEAST! Am I glad that I ordered every meat possible! Let me tell you something, they are not shy in doing smoked BBQ right! The meats pack a great flavorful punch bite after bite, all the meats are succulent and good to the last bit of it! The spareribs are meaty and juicy with just the right amount of seasoning. A perfect selection for the meat lovers than enjoy chewing through meat. The babybacks, tender and fall off the bone meat coated with just enough sauce. Smoked chicken, juicy, juicy, juicy. Oh did I mention juicy? The chicken cooked to perfection with tender and extremely moist breast meat coated lightly with BBQ sauce. Jerk Chicken was just the right amount of spice and it was also juicy. The jerk seasoning has a slight sweetness to it and perfectly blended with the other items of jerk. Jerk pork was also good, but on the fattier side with fat tagged along the meat. But hey!, fat adds flavor, doesn't it?!?! Brisket. Probably one of the better ones that I've had anywhere! The brisket had the nice smoke ring around it. As I opened the foil to look at it, it looked tough and rough, but as I lay a piece of it across my tongue, it slapped my tongue and cheeks around with its moisture and taste that I wished I had more than what I ordered! The brisket's thin layer of fat on top just added that extra flavor that enhanced the overall experience...this brisket has a whole lot of love and affection into the cooking of it! It is quite amazing! The meats were so good that I thought the sides were just okay...nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, more just fillers. Great place for a quick lunch stop and ordering cooked meats to-go. I highly, highly recommend the smoked BBQ meats at this joint!

Delicious and awesomeness. This is the best BBQ place. I had brisket, Mac n cheese and rice and beans. Love this place, but no where to really sit to eat if more than 4 people.

Alright. This is one of those hidden gems you don't want to write a review about because everyone will start going and it'll be popular then you'll never be able to get stuff before it sells out! I have tasted the pork, chicken, ribs and now brisket. OMG. When I say effing delicious, I mean "stab each other with forks over the last piece" delicious! The mac n cheese is made from scratch... Nothing 6-cheese fancy, just good home style mac n cheese! Also, they have something called Festival on their sides menu, which is like a fried dough of sorts... Yummy! Last item for now.. The corn muffin... OMG. Made with Apple and some sweet sauce. See picture. Order also. By the way... Tommy the chef/owner is AWESOME... Definitely strike up a convo with him while you wait! :)

We stopped by on a whim at 9:15pm. Friendly service, GREAT food, big portions, & good prices. It would be perfect if there was a place to eat there because eating in our car was a little messy. If your in the area and looking for BBQ stop by!

One of our clients recommended this spot and we have continuously used them for our weekly office lunches. We always get the Family Baby Bones meal that serves 3-5 people.. From the meats we ALWAYS get the spare ribs and baby back ribs and they are utterly delicious. It's literally fall off the bone meat.. Tender and juicy.. I highly recommend those two. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the brisket but that will be next :) For sides I recommend the Mac and cheese, cheesy and delicious. Also the corn, nicely cooked and not dried out either. The owner and employee there are incredibly nice and helpful when I go to pick up the food. So a big thank you to them The only reason I can't give it 5 stars it's because i wish there was more tables inside to actually have a sit down meal. There is only one high top and the rest are waiting chairs. Maybe one day in the future they'll have a sit down restaurant. If you're in Pines and want great BBQ, go here!

This place is fantastic The brisket is off the chain the short ribs are fantastic ,its easy to over order so do-it on a Saturday so we can have leftovers for Sunday .Moms love that Family fun-day.try anything on the menu it will be great

WOW!!! I was in the area and decided to have some BBQ and this place showed up. I ordered the combo which includes 2 meats and 2 sides for $15. I chose baby back ribs, brisket, baked beans and potato salad. The ribs were fantastic, the brisket was super tender, baked beans were perfect and with pork chunks in the beans and the potato salad was spectacular!! I've had BBQ in areas of the country that are known for BBQ and this place rivals those places and I'd dare to say that much better than some. It's only a take out location so plan on eating home or on the road. If you're one or two people you could probably eat in but it's a small take out location and well worth the money I spent. Try it next time you're in the mood for great BBQ, you won't regret it.

Ok been here twice, both times something was sold out and this was midday. Anyways I decided to go with the baby back ribs since the pulled pork was not available. I asked for Mac & Cheese and Fries ( which by the way is an extras dollar for the fries). For a grand total of 15$ and change, ok no problem not a bad price for baby back ribs. When I get home I'm in SHOCK! There's only 4 ribs in my dish I swear to god I will post a pic. I can get a FULL RACK OF RIBS almost anywhere for 15$. Unfortunately this place is good, however not worth the ridiculous prices. I won't come back.

Delicious! We tried their Baby-back Ribs with Mac-n-cheese. The Mac was OUTSTANDING. The ribs were of course scrumptious. The service is very friendly and the food is fresh. 10 times better than Scrubby's or any other BBQ place around here. I would highly recommend you give this place a try! Like others have mentioned... there is one table only so it's mainly take out. Yum!

4.5/5 I have eaten here once, tried to eat here again today but eat 24 can't get their act together. If you want to oder delivery do not order through yelp app, eat 24 is trash. The delivery partners the store uses work much better. As for the actual food, it was all cooked PERFECTLY. I ordered the brisket, and pork and beans. First off the brisket, the color was almost perfect with a nice pink color and good smoke ring around the meat. It cut like butter, in fact I only needed the plastic to go fork, and melts in your mouth. The spice rub could use a slight adjustment to give it a little more flavor but that's just my opinion. The pork and beans was true pork and beans not just shitty beans with a couple token pieces of bacon like you find at many places down here. These beans again were cooked perfectly and there were CHUNKS of pork in it, amazing. I also had the fried plantains which were very good. I will be eating from here again.

An unassuming shop in a strip mall with no real seating - this is a take out joint. Generally I worry if you can't smell the smoke when you arrive, but I imagine the reality of running a BBQ place from a strip mall is that you have to have strong air filters. Shame though. The guy that runs this place is super friendly and seems to take great care in presenting food which meets his own high standards. When we visited we tried the brisket and the spare ribs, along with mac & cheese, grilled veggies and pork and beans. The brisket was very good - certainly among the best we've had in South Florida. The spare ribs were well cooked, tender and with great bark - but they just lacked depth of flavour, which was disappointing. The sides were all good - particularly the beans which had big chunks of pork and a great deep BBQ flavour. The mac & cheese was pretty good - not overcooked, as so many are, but also not creamy enough for my tastes. We wanted to try the shrimp po'boy and the coleslaw but neither were available. The owner said he's not buying shrimp because of problems with supplies from China - well, who buys shrimp from China when you can choose to buy so much more locally? So that was weird. I won't be rushing back to Bare Bones but I will stop buy again when I'm visiting the area. Places like this should be supported and will hopefully only get better over time.

Fire! I recommend anyone who likes BBQ or Caribbean cuisine to go eat there ASAP! This place deserves an episode on diners drive ins and dives. I love everything on the menu, but the beef brisket on Texas toast takes the cake.

Tried this restaurant after finding on Yelp and reading the reviews. Glad we did! The baby back ribs were moist and fall-off-the-bone good! The chicken was moist. The beans were also so delicious! The cashier/waitress was so cute, polite, and helpful. The cook (not sure if he was the owner) was also super nice! We would definitely go back here again the next time we visit Florida!

Definitely want to go back to Bare Bones and try some other items on their memu although it seems like we tried a lot the first time around. Only complaint is that there was not enough sauce on the baby back ribs. It shouldn't be a complaint becuase the ribs were super tender and perfectly seasoned, but lots of sauce is a personal preference. The jerk chicken was moist and tender as well. Not crazy spicy but the jerk seasoning was excetional and had a slight kick-perfect for those who don't like super spicy food. Nothing bad to say about the sides - great mac and cheese, hush puppies, apple cornbread, slaw and potato salad.

South Florida is, geographically, as about deep south as you can go; culturally, not so. Which means time and again we follow claims of "best BBQ" to be disappointed. Most of the time the BBQ isn't passing grade by true Southern standard. Bare Bones has a menu of both southern BBQ, true BBQ smoked for many hours, and Jamaican jerk. While the place is small it's nice and clean, with two tables (when we called to see if there is any dine-in space the person offered to "reserve" the table for us, along with the BBQ, which is a nice gesture.) We've tried most of the meat, but most of the sides were out on a late weekend afternoon. I like the ribs the best. The spare ribs are huge, but the baby back is much tenderer, and at only $1 more than the spare ribs, is definitely a better deal. For the brisket, I have to say that the place in Pompano Beach that begins with B, offers a much nicer brisket - a more flavorful rub and a tenderer brisket. Unfortunately our brisket was served rather cold. Fat is delicious when melting and juicy, not so when it's cold and firm. As for the jerk - I can name quite a few Jamaican places that do it better.

Bar none this is the best BBQ place in south Florida. What a hidden gem.... Everything on the menu is great, everything! Run don't walk, thank me later

  • Julie S.

I must say the food definitely lived up to the reviews I've seen on here. I ordered for lunch and couldn't come close to finishing it. The macaroni and cheese is very delicious and doesn't taste like it's made with processed cheese product. You can taste the individual ingredients of cheese and butter and milk. The collard greens were much better than I was expecting and had plenty of meat pieces and flavoring. The baked beans were some of the best I've had. As for the spare ribs themselves, this is where I take the star, the meat wasn't very tender. It may have just been my batch that day but it was kind of tough even and I was a little disappointed. The bbq sauce is really tasty and overall I would definitely order again

Hands down the best BBQ I've ever eaten. I just went there today with my mother. The young lady at the front was very sweet and very helpful with menu choices. I've eaten BBQ from coast to coast, this place has just become my new favorite BBQ joint. Amazing food. I wish I would've known about this place sooner.

Archie Bunker - err Allen S. - was right. Bare Bones makes some really good food. We're in the middle of having our house painted so homemade meals are up in the air. We ordered food for tonight and this week's lunches and dinners. I called in the order and hubby picked it up. The person told me it'd take 25 minutes but when hubby arrived he hung out for a half hour. So I'd say double the time they tell you the order'll be ready. If you want to try everything, call early. They were out of corn hush puppies and corn bread when I called. When hubby was there they ran out of jerk chicken and pork. This is a good problem - people loving the food so much it's gone! I have to say, we enjoyed everything. There is a spicy kick to most of the food so if you like your food to bite you back a bit you'll love this. The corn on the cob was surprisingly wonderful - the occasional char taste balanced the sweetness and the kernels weren't mushy - they were done right. The brisket is a smoky, soft, juicy mouthful. The assertive rub blends with the fat cap drippings and the meat is kissed with their flavors. The ribs are nicely done - the rub is a balance of savory and sweet and the meat is smoked but not overcooked to the point of 'falling off the bone' - an actual cooking error. The meat pulls away from the bone easily - a sign of being cooked properly. They gave us sauce but I didn't use it on the meats because it really wasn't needed. I tried the sauce on one bite of meat at the end of the meal and it was a bit too sweet for me. The mac and cheese was a thick cheese covered elbow macaroni - it was good but not creamy. The dirty rice and beans were delicious. The pork and beans was a heavily sauced meaty side worth ordering. The collard greens are lost on me - I just don't see why people like an overcooked-to-the-point-of-turning-grayish-green, heavily sweetened veg. But if you have to get it at least this one has a spicy note that helps cut through the sweetness. They've removed desserts from their menu - with exception of festivals, a Jamaican plain donut, fried into balls instead of the traditional short sticks. (And they shorted us one - see the pic - who got that one?) The fesivals tasted good but they weren't drained after cooking so each bite coated my lips with grease. It didn't stop me from finishing it, however. We ordered 2 sandwich combos for hubby's lunch this week. I tasted the potato salad, Cole slaw, and bit of chicken from one of the boxes. The potato salad was homemade and good; the Cole slaw was very vinegary, and the white-meat chicken was on the dry side and spicy. We have a container of sauce so hubby can wet the chicken when he packs it to go. If you aren't having your house painted and are looking for 1 meal instead of nearly a week's worth, I suggest the corn and the brisket. And if you see Allen, tell him that hubby waited for his food along with white and black people, ranging in age from 30's to 50's, who hadn't eaten there before but had read reviews. Who knows, maybe it was Allen's review that sent them there...maybe I shouldn't brace myself when I read his reviews.

So a Jamaican, a Redneck and a Black fella from the South all walk into Bare Bones. They look at the menu and Bob Marley says "Tis what I was raised on Mon", Hank Williams Sr replies "Hell Son I ain't followin' ya, this here's what I was raised up on" (One eye squints, looks down and spits out chewing tobacco juice) and finally Ray Charles answers "Oh hell nah, Y'all crazy, this is what I was raised up on" (then kinda bobs his head) Question: Which one was telling the truth? Answer: They all would have been. Yeah traditional Southern Cookin', Soul Food and Jamaican eats can be similar in many ways to the surprise of younger folks, but this place brings it full circle. Bare Bones has Jamaicans going out of their way to get a hold of our Southern style Collard Greens and us Florida Crackers and Southern Blacks introduced to and jonesing on Jerk Chicken and Red Peas and Rice. This is no chain but a 'Mom and Pop' place, I believe as rumor has it with just a Pop raising his Son and Pop obviously busts his a** to make sure the food is always great, I say this because we've had his food at least 20 times now and have NEVER been disappointed, not even once. We've had I believe everything on the menu and really don't know what to recommend except to say you'll never find better slow cooked Brisket in probably the tri-County area, it melts in your mouth. Even a New Yorker would love it, it's like "Butta". My Wife doesn't care much at all for this type of food (it's actually probably her least favorite) yet loves this place, it genuinely freaks me out. If you knew her and how ridiculously picky she is you wouldn't freak out at how much I'm freaking out. Another thing that impresses me is the fact they have meat in their Greens, if you are from up North ask anyone Black or White older than 35 who is from down here what that means, instead of answering they'll just force you to drive them there immediately. Like I said everything has been awesome but I have to also mention their corn on the cob. It's roasted/grilled and has a scal to it meaning in the Deep South it is a tad bit burnt in spots which brings the flavor out, make sure you have some, it's crazy. Bare Bones in all their glory is take-out only but Delivery WOW delivers for them in a pretty extended area. Do yourselves a favor and try them at least once to see what I mean. This is only 1 of 2 places I've reviewed so far where I didn't have to sit back and give much thought about giving them 5 stars, everything is honestly excellent.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! Since it is within walking distance of our house, we order takeout at least once every couple of weeks. The southern comfort meal is big enough to share! We usually order one southern comfort meal with baby back ribs and pulled pork as the two meats, mac and cheese and french fries as the side. We get an order of festival bread if we're feeling wild. If you absolutely HAVE to pick one thing to try, go for the pulled pork! It is the best I have ever had. The ribs are also fall-off-the-bone delicious, and I don't normally like ribs!! To boot, the sides are also amazing! You can tell the mac and cheese is made with real cheese, and the fries are always crispy and delicious. And that festival bread!!! Just try it. Call ahead and they have your order ready in 20 minutes.

Great little bbq place. Like most of their bbq especially the jerked meats, except the brisket is incredibly bland. Definitely an asset to the area for food offerings though.

Best damn BBQ I've tasted ANYWHERE in South Florida. We drive up from West Kendall (about 35-40 minutes each way) just for their take out (there is no eat-in). The delicous smell in the car makes the drive back long and tortuos. That said, the baby back ribs are excellent. The jerk chicken is fantastic! Just love this place. Tommy is great! Highly, highly, highly recommend! They have also catered huge meals for my company (40+ people), and EVERYONE raves about their food. So much so that whenever we have a company event, the decision is unanimous - Bare Bone BBQ & Jerk!!!

Excellent food! The Brisket is amazing! Melt-in-your-mouth amazing! But what a surprise to find Red Snapper!!!! It's not on the menu so you should order it if available!!! Will come back for more!!!

I travel for a living and have visited many BBQ spots around the country. Bare Bones has by far the best brisket and jerk chicken I have ever had. I can't say enough good things about their meat - it''s fantastic. Their BBQ sauce is downright perfect and the brisket melts in your mouth. I order a few pounds weekly. Keep up the good work, guys.

First time visit with the intention of sampling the brisket but they were out. On to the pork ... the pulled pork sandwich was loaded with perfectly cooked, tender pork with a sweet BBQ sauce. My sandwich was among the best I've had. The Cole slaw side was okay but the potato salad was good. My wife had picture-perfect short ribs that were tender but retained the perfect amount of bite. The baked bean side was excellent with huge chunks of bbq pork mixed in. The chef came to the front of the house to ask if we had any questions. The staff was very pleasant. Try the "Jamaican cream soda." If this place had better seating, I would give it a 5.

Just in town for a minute and yelp'd nearby BBQ. I'm originally from the South and the brisket and pulled pork are off the chart. Simple take out only in a strip mall but be fooled.

I was perusing through the feed on the Yelp app on my iPhone and saw someone post a review for Bare Bones BBQ & Jerk. I was having a lazy Friday at home. It was already after 1pm and I still hadn't eaten breakfast. After reading the review and checking out the photos, I decided I would give them a try. It's a new restaurant in my neighborhood and being that I wouldn't have to drive more than 5 minutes to get to them, that made me even happier! I'm not a huge BBQ fan but I can appreciate a good rib now and again. The review mentioned the Texas Toast Brisk'wich and raved about the potato salad so I looked over the menu on their website and decided to go with the sandwich as well. First impressions mean a great deal. Their website is well put together, easy to read and maneuver. They only offer pickup & delivery so I called in to place my order. Their prices are just right! The brisk'wich was $7 and I also decided to try their sweet corn hush puppies that was prices at $3. All sandwiches come with potato salad AND coleslaw. I thought it was either one or the other but nope! They offer both! I was told that my food would be ready in 10 minutes so I jumped in the car exactly 10 minutes later to pick up my food. It's located in a strip mall and the restaurant is very clean and decorated in bright colors. It is owned by Jamaicans and then it all made sense to me as to why 2 sides were offered instead of one as island people love to load up on sides lol I picked up one of their menus and noticed a coupon for $2 off any order $10 or more. I asked if I could use it and the gentleman checking me out said "Of course" with a great big smile! He was very pleasant and kind, telling me that he was waiting for my hush puppies. They make them freshly for each order so no worries about it being there from yesterday! I started eating the hush puppies in the car. They were hot out of the oil and very good! Crispy on the outside, moist and sweet on the inside. I love corn so it was the perfect little treat for me! The sandwich is made of 2 slices of Texas toast, brisket, & coleslaw. Can you say sinfully delicious??? My goodness! It tasted sooooo good. I ate half then and then ate the remainder of the sandwich over the course of the say. I was not a big fan of the coleslaw or the potato salad. The coleslaw had a strong vinegar taste which I wasn't too fond of. The potato salad was lacking flavor. It was very blah. Overall, I really enjoyed the sandwich and hush puppies plus the service was really great. The other menu options look really good to so I'm looking forward to trying them again. I was torn between a 3 or 4 star but gave them a 4 star because of their great service and I was overall pleased with my meal minus the potato salad & the coleslaw.

Wow! Fantastic!!! The owner is extremely nice and professional. He catered a large party on the beach in pompano and assisted with the planning of food and quantities. He himself along with some helpers came out and set the entire thing up for us. All day people ranted and raved about how great the food was. Not only the BBQ but the sides as well. The Mac and cheese and beans were to die for. Everyone had their favorites. I would eat there and definitely use them to cater again and again! Thanks for the great party! Sherry and Rick

First time trying this place. The food was good. A little pricey. We ordered through gowaiter.com to deliver. Ordered 2 servings of baby back ribs with red peas and rice with potato salad and coleslaw and then the jerk pork with potato salad and red peas and rice. The potato salad was delish and the rice was good. The pork was spicy but not too hot, but a little dry. Didn't care for the coleslaw at all. It was like cabbage with a sweetness to it but sort of dry. I didn't taste the baby back ribs but my son and husband seemed happy with it. I would try this place again but try something other than the pork next time. Not fine dining but good for a night when you don't feel like cooking or ordering pizza.

Seriously some of the best food around. I'm a southern girl so I know my grilled meat and this place is great. I haven't had everything but the chicken is so tender and flavorful. The ribs are tasty too. The Mac n' Cheese is pretty impressive for takeout. My daughter had the slaw which she said was a little dry but she really enjoyed her brisket philly. This southern/Trini has yet to be disappointed with the food.

Food was great!!! Staff was very helpful in making suggestions, portions looked smallish at first but was very filling. Took away one star because i would've really like a sit down atmosphere, it's take out only. I live about 20-25 drive away and when got home it was a little cold, I'm sure food would've been better if I got to eat it fresh from kitchen to table!!!

This is a small mom & pops that seems fairly new. There really isn't any seating so takeout is a must. After seeing the delicious pictures on Yelp of the briskwich and the hushpuppies I was excited to try, but gameday cleaned them out of brisket and they no longer offer hushpuppies (total heartbreak). That was fine because I ended up really enjoying the Carolina pulled chicken sandwich and the half jerk chicken. Loved the sandwich. It was overflowing with thick chunks of chicken. I'm not of a fan of the stringier pulled meats so this was perfect. It came with a spicy sauce on the side which was also good. I also liked the jerk chicken. However, (I hate saying this because the people there were suuuuuper sweet) the sides needed improvement in our opinion. We had mac & cheese and potato salad. I could not finish either side but my kids enjoyed them. It also came with a small cole slaw which was good. I'll probably try something else or just stick with the sandwich and fries next time. We ordered 4 good sized meals and spent $35 (add in tip). No drinks.

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. DISGUSTING:-/ I was excited to try this place out. My husband and I are very disappointed. I opened my chicken salad to find a bloody piece of chicken right on top...very unappetizing. The dressing was supposed to be chipotle ranch, but instead I got a buttermilk ranch dressing (ok fine). It was also supposed to have cheddar cheese (nope, no cheddar cheese on my salad). I've had better salads from McDonalds. My husband's combo meal was pulled pork with spare ribs and potato salad with baked mac. Spare ribs were burnt and dry (how do you dry out spare ribs? they're supposed to be meatier and juicier than babyback). Pulled pork was very bland. The potato salad tasted like the potato salad we have bought from publix. The delivery took 1 hour and 15 minutes.

One of the best barbecue restaurants in town. Brisket and ribs were tender. Mac and cheese was delicious. Collard greens was good too. Everything we ordered off the menu was good which is not usual for a restaurant!!

Everything about this place is awsome! Only downside is no tables to eat there so I eat 1/4 or more of it on way home. Brisket is the BEST and both style of Ribs the meat is more than I have ever had. Mac n cheese slap your momma good. Also love the corn. Tommy & his help are all the sweetest and most helpful food workers I have ever met.

I have gone several times. One of the few places that truly puts in the time to smoke brisket properly. Everything is tender and full of flavor. The food is not over cooked and covered with sauce to give it flavor like most places around here( Sonnys, Old Florida BBQ, scrubby's, shorty's). If you love BBQ, then you should try this place.

Great takeout restaurant for BBQ and Jamaican food. The menu is extensive and the prices are very reasonable. All food is cooked to order- extremely fresh and well seasoned. This restaurant focuses on grilled food with all the side dishes you can dream of. Their menu also includes a dessert corn muffin with blueberry and apples that has the texture and taste of a cobbler. This place is SUPER clean with modest decor. If you're in the area they're located on Palm Ave closer to Taft Street in a mall. There's an Indian Restaurant in the same plaza with a similar name- however this is takeout with a great bright decor. Friendly service and great presentation.

Ordered a southern comfort plate of brisket, Mac & Cheese, and Potatoe Salad. What I got was definitely not comforting. The sides weren't great, very bland. The brisket, which I was really looking forward to, was dry. Good portion. But not worth the price. Maybe it was my mistake to order within 3 hours of closing. Will give them another try.

The Chef/Owner, Tommy, is not only incredibly gracious, but extraordinarily gifted. Everything at BB BBQ is excellent! The baby back ribs fall off the bone. They are perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of sauce and they will melt in your mouth! I am a girly girl and I don't like to get my hands dirty so this made for a heavenly combination. The potato salad is exactly the way I like it, mostly mushed with some chunks so that all the seasonings and flavors are deliriously combined. I've been to BB BBQ twice and, so far, this is my "MUST HAVE!" As other reviewers have mentioned, the brisket is excellent. Again, as it seems to be a theme here, it melts in your mouth. On my second visit, I got the baked beans. This may be my second "MUST HAVE" item. WHOA! The flavors explode in your mouth and the texture of the beans combined with the chunks of meat, nothing short of BBQ Bliss!!! I recently found an excellent BBQ spot near my parent's home while on vacation. I was sad to see it go when I left because it was a great go-to spot for that wonderful, warm down home feeling that only really great quality food made with love can give you. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful local spot. My faith in S. FL comfort food has been renewed!

We were going to have dim sum for lunch but the restaurant was so crowded so we used the yelp app to find a place to go to. We happened to find this BBQ restaurant and decided to give it a try since the reviews were good. We ordered the jerk pork and brisket combo and half order of the spareribs. We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty and tender of the meats including the spareribs. The brisket was flavorful and tender. As for the spareribs, they were crispy outside yet still juicy inside. The girl at the front was very friendly. She explained to us what would be good to try knowing it was our first time going there. We wish we live closer so we can visit more often; we definitely will come back!!!

Food is always on point I don't eat pork or beef so strictly talking about the chicken. I've ordered the 1/4 jerk and Carolina pulled chicken sandwich both are great. Carolina is sweet but great. The Mac n cheese is some if the best I've ever had.

Wow!!! That was the best BBQ chicken I have ever had! It was flavorful, moist and juicy with a hint of smokiness from being in the smoker. We also had the pulled pork sandwich, baby back ribs, Mac n cheese and potato salad...everything was absolutely delicious! Tommy, one of the owners helped us...he was very friendly, courteous and professional! I highly recommend this place! It's my new favorite BBQ restaurant!

I have been dying for some good brisket and finally had some free time to check this place out. I ordered a half pound of brisket with no sides to go. Went in around 330 pm to pick up and the food was hot and ready with a small cup of bbq sauce. Anyways, this is a small place and if it ever goy busy, not more than 10-12 people could eat comfortably. On to the brisket: i thought it was flavorful and good. You could taste a hint of smoke, but no actual smoke ring. The brisket was super moist, but also had a little more fat than I would prefer. Overall, great tasting brisket and hopefully i get to try some other items on the menu soon. The girl at the register was friendly.

Not many really good options for BBQ in Pembroke Pines outside of Tom Jenkins, but he is too far. I went there thinking it was simply a Jamaican restaurant. IT IS NOT. It has some of the BEST BBQ in the area. The brisket was awesome. They serve it NC style, which means they have coleslaw, vinegar style, on the sandwich. The big surprise for me was the potato salad. I am not usually a fan of sides as they are heavy and full of mayonnaise. Their potato salad was so good I went back JUST for that. They do have Jerk, as an offshoot of their BBQ smoker, but don't let that fool you. Great smoked meat, and do yourself a favor and stop by JUST for the potato salad. Yummy...

This is probably THE best BBQ in South Florida! It's a hole in the wall, small little place with big taste! You may have to wait a few minutes for your food because it's all made fresh, but it's worth the wait. The service was great! We got to meet the owner/cook and he really has a passion for what he does. We will definately be back to try everything on the menu!!

i will not learn...pork and me are not friends. but i had to try this place out, within walking distance of my house.the baby back and spare ribs were AWESOME!! even though i ended up paying the price day after. the place is a bit disorganized and not completely furnished, and the kitchen needs a makeover.the problem i have is the kids running around the place like a playground.that is not good for business and unprofessional, albeit was at night.
